History

Since 1979 Mara and Maurizio Martin have transformed an old inn in Venice into one of the most famous restaurants in the city.
Class service and interesting gastronomic proposals have consolidated over time the fame of the place.
Maurizio’s hospitable style in creating a family and friendly convivial environment, the passion of both spouses for the art of receiving are the traits characterizing the success of the Restaurant da Fiore.
Together with his son Damiano, who is its director, they continue to devote themselves with love to the Venetian culinary tradition, making the Restaurant da Fiore one of the most coveted destinations of gourmets and travelers visiting Venice.

Wine Spectator defined “da Fiore” as the best restaurant in Venice. Patricia Wells introduced it to fifth place as the best restaurant in the world for its special features.
Grand Gourmet wrote that the Martin family serves the best fish in any Italian restaurant. The New York Times called Mara Martin and her husband Maurizio “the most courteous restaurateurs in the city of Venice.”
